On February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake devastated large areas of central Turkey and northwest Syria. The death toll has surpassed 50,000 and continues to climb. Millions of people have been displaced. The Center for Service-Learning is hosting a Turkish music benefit concert to support earthquake relief efforts. Several of the performers are from Turkey, including Dr. Gözde Çakır Ramsey, adjunct flute professor at Benedictine College. Free will offerings accepted at the door. Suggested minimum donation of $5 per person or $20 per family. Proceeds will benefit earthquake relief efforts via Catholic Relief Services. Contact mdoyle@benedictine.edu for more information.
