We Are in This Together! How Civic Virtues Connect Our K-8 Students to their World – In this two-day session, educators will explore the virtues that provide our country and your classroom a way to bind diverse people together in communities that promote a healthy civil society. Help students of all ages begin to understand their role in the great American experiment of self-government and the promise of liberty and equality. Using Bill of Rights Institute (BRI) resources connected to American virtues, participants will examine how to make connections between their curriculum and civics and government in a way that is relevant to the students that they teach. Time will be spent working with BRI staff to create a lesson plan to help participants start the school year with conversations about our country, both past and present, and why this matters to students.
